Ticho House

Ticho House was one of the first houses in Jerusalem built outside the old city walls. It was built in the second half of the ninteenth century by an Arab dignitary.

Situated in the Jerusalem city center, Ticho House is filled with the atmosphere of old Jerusalem, the art of painter Anna Ticho (1894 -1980), and chamber music performed by immigrant and other artists, who appear here in concert every Friday morning. Add a light meal in the serene garden restaurant of the Ticho House,  and you have a total experience “away from it all” right in the center of town.

Dr. Avraham Ticho bought the house in 1924. As a token of her love to Jerusalem, Anna Ticho bequeathed the house, all of its collections and its library to the people of the city, to serve as a public center for art.

The House contains Temporary exhibitions, An exhibition of works by Anna Ticho, Hanukkah, lamps collected by Dr. Avraham Ticho, A reference library of books about Jerusalem, art and literature and a garden Cafe/Restaurant
