“6 While they were there, the time came for the baby to be born, 7 and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no guest room available for them” (Luke 2)
This magnificent event is presented at the Custodia Terræ Sanctæ at the Christian Quarter near the New gate at the Old City of Jerusalem. The model shows the landscape of the Naples surroundings from the eighteenth century. Around a large rock dozens of characters are arranged. At the heart of the mountain, in the privacy of a cave, the Son of God is just born.
The handcrafted labor was conducted in 2014 by the Neapolitan family business Scarabattola to the Holy Land Custody.
