The Israel Museum

The Israel Museum is the flagship museum of the country and its name speaks for itself. The museum curates one of the most comprehensive and beautiful collections of the historical and archeological treasures in the world.

As appropriated for a museum of such importance, it is located on Ruppin Boulevard near the Knesset (the Israeli parliament) and its ministries, the Edmond J. Safra Campus of the Hebrew University in Givat Ram, and the Bloomfield Science Museum.

After three years of extensive renovations, the museum was finally reopened in July 2010 to the public, after being fully upgraded. The experience of visiting the renovated Israel Museum is a cultural experience on any international scale. We recommend taking a at least a couple of days for the complete experience of the museum, as it spreads across many acres ranging from the beautiful Billy Rose Art Garden, The Shrine of the Book, the Youth Wing, through to the museum’s gourmet restaurant and the permanent exhibition sections.

The museum hosts historical and archeological exhibitions of classic and modern art collected from all over the world, and which update continuously, presenting Jewish artifacts from around the globe, including artifacts originating from Italian, German and Indian synagogues, which have been restored in their original architectural design inside the museum.
