The photo below was taken in the Guy Ben Hinnom (Gehenna) valley which is located just south of the Old City. This place served as the first Crusader cemetery in the Holy Land dating back to the 12th century. The cemetery has many burial chambers and caves in which the Crusaders where laid to rest.
This building is what the French call a “charnier”. It was built by the Crusaders and some of it.
