"Muse" – A New Exhibition at Alrov Mamilla Avenue
The word "muse" comes from the same word as music; the source is Greek mythology, in which music was one of the nine Muses, the daughters of Zeus, who were taught by Apollo.
The primary function of the "Muse" is to provide inspiration for dance, music, history, drama and astronomy.
During the Greek and Roman periods, the Muses were a popular subject in art, and many artists made sculptures and paintings of the Muses. To this day, the word is used to describe the inspiration for the creation of many works of art.

The sculptures will be displayed along the Avenue for the enjoyment of the thousands of visitors from Israel and abroad who stroll through the area. The exhibition will introduce 62 Israeli sculptors, who have joined together for this group showing of 120 works of art depicting musical instruments and movement.
The exhibition will feature stone and bronze sculptures of wind, stringed and percussion instruments, drums, bells, and a variety of other instruments.
The new exhibition is another step forward in the comprehension of Israeli art – contemporary in spirit – in which the final product is an up-to-the minute, ultra-modern statement.
Mamilla Alrov Avenue
Alrov Mamilla Avenue is a modern project, embraced by the enchanted past. It is located in the very heart of bustling Jerusalem. A tour of the Avenue reveals reconstructed and restored buildings from the 19th century, side by side with new and contemporary structures.
Alrov Mamilla Avenue is making an unprecedented gesture of singular force towards contemporary Israeli art, creating an unpretentious cultural discourse through a presentation that makes an innovative social statement.
The works of art on display are for sale to the general public. Each piece of artwork will display a price tag giving the artist's name and contact information, in both Hebrew and English.
