According to their tradition the Ark of the Covenant was taken from the Holy Temple in Jerusalem to Aksum, Ethiopia, by the son of King Solomon and the Queen of Sheba, who was born in the wake of her visit to Jerusalem. The Ark is believed to be kept in Ethiopia to this very day. Ethiopian Christian tradition follows many customs that are said to date back to early Judaism.
