City of David – 3,000 Years of History

The city of Jerusalem was originally built around the Gihon Spring and to the west of Mount of Olives

Jerusalem has been continuously inhabited since at least 3100 B.C., but it was only in the time of David (1,000 BC) that the city was expanded to the north to its current location (Old city of  Today).

The picture below was taken in an archeological site in the City of David (also known as ‘G-Section’) and is located in the center of an Arab village called Silwan.
