One of the greatest historical and archaeological finds of the 21st Century are the Dead Sea Scrolls
Ron Peled, AllAboutJerusalem.com

The Dead Sea Scrolls are a collection of about 800 documents, including texts from the ancient Bible written more than 2,000 years ago, and was discovered between 1947 and 1956 in eleven caves on the northwest shore of the Dead Sea.

Today, the scrolls are on exhibition in a few museums around the world and one of them is the Israel Museum in Jerusalem.

The Shrine of the Book is located on the Israel Museum Compound and is a unique structure that houses a large collection of Dead Sea Scroll, ancient working vessels, sandals dating back to the time of the Bible, and many other artifacts.

The white color of the dome and the dark black interior tell a fascinating story behind the originators of the Dead Sea Scrolls and takes us back more than 2,000 years ago…
